Modern and ecological, Curitiba is a vanguard city. No other Brazilian Capital has
a transportation system as efficient, no garbage collection with so many results. Curitiba was the pioneer in the implanting of the recycling.
This is due to the fact that ever since it was founded, the people of Curitiba have been worried about the environment and with the national
urban design. Curitiba has so many parks that it is calculated 55m² of green area for each inhabitant. It is an impeccably clean city with very
little pollution and therefore a very high quality of life.
The cultural life in Curitiba is intense. It was considered to be the largest
cultural center of Latin America. With special mention to the scenically arts, the theatre festival that is held annually in march since 1992,
it is the radiator of the principal dramatic tendencies in Brazil and Latin America. Besides the theatre, Curitiba is outstanding in the visual
arts with photography as well as dance festivals. The dance festival in Curitiba is held in November and even though it was only inaugurated in
2001, it is larges size event with Brazilian and foreign dancers.
Historical buildings and sculptors works of art such as the Opera de Arame
completely made of glass, attract tourist from all over the world, including renowned lectures, that choose the place as headquarters for their
lectures (in his only trip to Brail, Dalai Lama maximum religious authority in Tibet, held a type of seminary in the Opera do Arame, in
1999.
The city has a pleasant temperature, going from 13° C and 21° C with its economy
based mainly on the trial party market and its per capita income of 9 thousand reais per year, much large than the country's average, Curitiba
is considered to be the ecological capital of the country. |
