Hercílio Luz Bridge - Florianópolis |
Beaches of astonishing beauty and well preserved historic patrimony makes
Florianópolis one of the most pleasant State Capitals of the country, with approximately 40% of the city covered with “Mata Atlântica” (Tropical
forest). Located in the coast side of Santa Catarina, the city is placed between the continent and an island, united by two bridges: “Colombo
Sales” and “Pedro Ivo Campos”. Both of them offer a view to the historic suspended bridge “Hercílio Luz”, which became one of the famous post
cards of the city.
There are around 100 beaches that struggle for the visits of tourists, so it’s
difficult to choose the best among so many paradisiacal options. And nobody gets unsatisfied, since there are alternatives with calm or agitated
sea, thin or thick sand, crowded or almost desert beaches. The hint is to visit as many beaches as possible.
The best waves are in “Santinho”, “Joaquina” and “Mole” beaches, while “Daniela”
and “Caieira” have almost no waves. Some of the most beautiful eco trails are in “Lagoinha do Leste”, “Campeche” and “Naufragados” beaches. It’s
advisable to be accompanied by a registered guide for the tours. But, besides the exuberant vegetation, beaches and dunes, Florianópolis is rich
in historic monuments, churches and museums.
At night, the bars around “Lagoa da Conceição” are highly demanded. There are from
simple restaurants to establishments that offer live music shows and dance floors.
