The building houses the biggest brazilian museum with pieces of a unique
collection; in this case, it belonged to Calmon Barreto, an artist that expressed himself through several kinds of art. Various works of the
artist are exposed to the public, including paintings, poems, sculptures and e numisma, the art made with coins.
Barreto was professor and principal of Escola Nacional de Belas Artes and passed
a long time in Europe with scholarship, obtained after winning the prize of best artist in 1939.
