Casa de Câmara e Cadeia
The building of the old public jail of Angra dos Reis was originally constructed in
1624. During the colony times, it was common to have the jail and political organ in the same building. “Casa de Câmara e Cadeia” worked at Praça
Nilo Peçanha and today it’s open for visitation.
The last reform occurred in 1978, when the Council Chamber was installed there.
