It’s one of the biggest cultural complexes of Belo Horizonte. Founded in 1970,
comports three theaters, three art galleries, cinema, book shop, coffee house and photography space, where periodic exhibits happens.
The building was planned by Oscar Niemeyer and the beginning of its construction
is dated from 1942, during the mandate of Juscelino Kubitschek. Today, it also houses Centro de Artesanato Mineiro.
In 1978 it received the name of Fundação Clóvis Salgado, who was professor,
medic, governor of Minas Gerais and Minister of Culture and Education, besides presiding the art society, choral and Symphonic Orchestra of
Belo Horizonte. For being the greatest supporter of the space creation, it was fair that the space received his name.
The center is kept as a form of incentive to culture. Equipped with com equipments
for spectacles, it’s capable to host great plays, shows, exhibits and other events.
