Situated at the margins of River Pampulha, Church São Francisco de Assis was
founded during the 40’s. But it was recognized as catholic church only in 1959. The sanctuary garden was projected by Burle Marx and, in its
interior, there are various paintings of Candido Portinari in exhibit.
With fragile architecture style, the work that remit to the hills of Minas Gerais
is work of a reunion of artists, among them Portinari, Burle Marx and Oscar Niemeyer.
