PORTO SEGURO
Presentation
Paradisiacal beaches aren’t the
only attraction of Porto Seguro. The city is famous because it is considered to
be the place where the expedition led by Pedro Alvares
Cabral
landed when it arrived in the new continent. Today, everyone knows that it
wasn’t exactly in this place that the navigators oncored, but in Santa Cruz
Cabralia, which is located just a few kilometers north of Porto Seguro.
The city is also famous for the agitated night
life which has become one of the favorite itineraries for the traditional
graduation trips. There are parties everydays in one of the seven show houses in
the northern party of Porto Seguro, without mentioning the bars and restaurants
where music and dance shows are held as well.
The tourist who is looking for entertainment
will not be disappointed, but those who are looking for peace and quiet will
also be able to find absolutely fantastic places along the 90 kilometers of the
coast that are party of the city. Arraial d’Ajuda and Trancoso are the most
famous districts of Porto Seguro and the calmest ones as well.
To reach the beaches, it is necessary to go
along trails that are not always accessible which transforms the two places into
ideal routes for those who choose a closer contact with nature. It is in this
region that the most beautiful beaches with mountainous coast can be found, that
stimulate the mystic atmosphere of the two villages of Porto Seguro that are
typically hippie.
The most agitated beaches and with activities
until sunset are in the northern part, where the most elegant hotels are
located, frequented mainly by the foreign tourists. In the center, the Praia do
Cruzeiro isn’t one of the most beautiful ones but it is very close to the
Passarela do Alcool, a perfect place to try the most diverse types of drinks
without forgetting the traditional Capeta which, even though it is known all
over Brazil, was created in Porto Seguro.
It really doesn’t matter which beach it is,
north or south, all of them are very clean because the sewer is not thrown into
the sea. The city has a complex system of galleries that pump the water to a
treatment station outside of the city. The zeal in can sewing their natural
beauties is not groundless since 90 % of the income of Porto Seguro is tourism
and the rest come from the agriculture which supplies the food for the
restaurants.
