Leisure

Fazenda Hotel Areia que Canta has a considerable entertainment area. It has plenty of entertainment options, for all tastes. You can practice several kinds of sports in the farm. It has a warm swimming pool, tennis court, mini soccer field, basketball court and a game room.

Beside sports, there are plenty of activities in the farm, like the “Tiroleza”, an activity where both adults and children get suspended on a steel cable, so they can slide from one side to another. There are two options of “Tiroleza”, one over a park and other over a lake, so people can jump into the lake.

To those who wish to enjoy the nature, the farm’s trained guides suggest the fishing, done at the dam, a visit to the milking sector or to the sugar mill, where guests may learn how to make caldo de cana (sugar cane juice). The guests may also go horse riding with experienced monitors to get to know the whole Tamanduá Farm.

The place’s main attractive point is the tour on the famous “Areia que Canta” (Singing Sands), a natural pool formed by a fountain of crystal clear water spurting from the ground, through clear sand, located in the woods. Visitors may get into the water using diving goggles, offered by the monitors. The place is called “Areia que Canta” because the sands, formed with quartz particles, when rubbed between the hands, produce a sound similar to the cuíca (brazilian musical instrument).

The currents of Tamanduá River are the indicated tour to those who enjoy trekking and swimming. The walk takes about one and a half hour and has guides to orientate the visitors.
