Waterfall at Cristalina |
Cristalina is located 100km away from Brasília. It attracts visitors during the
whole year due to an immense variety of quartz crystals commercialized in the city, without mentioning the other precious stones found in the
region.
The city was already an important center that worked exclusively with minerals
treatment, what caused many holes and devastation of several areas, provoking erosion in determined parts. Says the history that the place
supplied material for american industries during World War 2nd until the appearance of the synthetic crystal. With the new material,
the population passed through an economic crisis.
Even with the uncontrolled exploration in the past, the city presents today an
immense natural beauty. The landscape is magnificent and there are many rivers and waterfalls in the region. Among the most visited waterfalls
there are Lajes and Dourada. There’s also rocky formations very interesting, like “Pedra do Chapéu”, and some particular real properties of
organs of environmental preservations.
Visit "Reserva Particular do Linda Serra dos Topázios", a particular
propriety, 8km away from downtown. There, it’s possible to find several species of animals typical from “cerrado”. |
