Planaltina |
Planaltina is located 43km away from Brasília and its history gets mixed very much
with the history of Brasília, due to the change of place of the federal capital. When the political seat left Rio de Janeiro to occupy Distrito
Federal (Federal District), a great part of the political organs started to operate in Planaltina, until everything was completely changed to
Brasília.
Planaltina is a city strictly urban,
but has many natural beauties, like Lagoa Bonita, important for the passage of “Missão Cruls” in 1982, which delimited the limits of Distrito Federal.
There’s also Piripau stream, with many waterfalls.
For those interested in knowing more about the history of the city, Planaltina
keeps “Museu Histórico e Artístico”, property of IPHAN, responsible for the preservation of various old and valuable objects. |
