Lençóis Beach

    This is one of the few refuges for surfers, but even so the waves are not very good. It is an inclined beach and deep water. Many people have the habit of walking its almost 3km of extension. It is located in the south part.

 

Mutari Beach

    According to Pero Vaz de Caminhas letter, it was at the mouth of the Mutari River that the Portuguese fleet supplied itself with water before continuing the journey. Nearly by they held the 2° Mass in Brazil, on May 1, 1500. The place is sought out by the fans of water sports. The access is made starting from Santa Cruz Cabralia, by the BR-367, 7km in direction to the south.

 

Coroa Vermelha Beach

    The Coroa Vermelha beach is part of the Indian area and it is a principal historical site of the municipal, where were celebrated the First Mass in Brazil. This beach has thick and white sand, reefs and calm waves, what is good to practice aquatic sports like windsurf, jet ski and kayak. During the sea falls is possible walk across the Coroa Vermelha, a giant sandbank that goes through the sea for dozen of meters up to Ponta da Coroa Vermelha reefs. That is a great walk, just take care about the tide.

 

Ponta de Mutá Beach

    A wrecked ship close to the coast is a ideal place to diving. Therefore, a coconut trees on the sand is also a good option for a relaxed walk. Around the are hotels, camping and scuba tours. Get in the place from Santa Cruz Cabrália by the BR-367, 7km in south direction.

 

Apuã Beach

    It is a urban beach where many schooner ride start, The origin of the name Apuã is an Indian name and means "hill" on this beach there is a hotel, inns, camping and restaurants.

 

Arakakai Beach

    Recommended for the practice of water sports such as surf, windsurf and bodysurf, besides the schooner rides. Those who prefer bathing in its water have to be careful with the dangerous reefs at the mouth of the João de Tiba River. It has beach stands and a camping area.

 

Itacimirim Beach or Tartarugas

    The coral reefs of Itacimirim, ideal of diving, is the high point of the beach. It has clear water and some strips of rock formations and mangrove. The place is good for bathing, fishing, diving, walks and horse riding. It is located in front of a private property but there exists a road of access.

 

Bolocas or Golfinhos Beach

    Located near the mouth of the Santo Antônio River and it is good for walking. It is practically deserted and hardly visited. The two existing beach stands aren´t open all the time.

 

Ponta de Santo Antônio Beach

    The "Sanctuary" of Santo Antônio is a peculiar village of fishers. It is considered to be one of the most charming and exotic nooks in Porto Seguro and in Brazil. It is practically unexplored, less than 200 people live in the place. The water is warm, green and calm, protected by more the 1km of reefs. The water is very deep in all the tides and that is why it is good to be careful while bathing. The village is in the APA (Environmental Protection Area) of the Swamp Ecosystem. Its beach is not very big and there is no hotel or inn. However, it is possible to spend the night in the rooms in the house of the fishers or in stands.


Access: by crossing by raft (more or less 10 minutes) though Santa Cruz Cabrália, by the João Tiba River. It is located 26km north of Porto Seguro.

 

Ilha Paraíso

    Surrounded on one side by the João de Tiba River and on the other side by the Atlantic Ocean, its grant remains for approximately 50 years with the same family. Besides the beaches, the island offers to its visitors the beauty of its mangrove trees and a lot of tranquility. You can fish, bath in the river or in the ocean and take ecology walks but you mustn't miss enjoying the more than 45 delicious types of home sweets prepared by the family matriarch of the family, Dona Ivone.

 

Guaiú Beach

    The beach of the village of Guaiú offers warm calm water, protected by the Angaba and Araripe reefs. It is an excellent place for fishing large shrimp or have a bath in sweet water. The access is made starting from the village of Santo Antônio, by a dirt road. You go 20km by the BA-001 which connects the Santa Cruz Cabrália and Belmonte Municipals.

 

João de Tiba River

    Many tourists go to the river for boat rides up the river. The river is good for fish. It is also a means of transportation for the village of Santo André.
