Poderes’s Park |
The Poderes’s Park was created in 1981 as an ecologic reserve. It was the first
area protected in this way in Mato Grosso do Sul State and also houses the seat of the State Government. It has 135 hectares and is controlled
by Environment, Culture and Tourism State Secretary (SEMACT/MS) and by Pantanal Environmental Institute (IMA-P).
The extensive green area of the park preserves the last traces of the original
vegetation of Campo Grande. Guides are at the disposal of the tourists so they can guide visitors in walkings and trails inside the park, which
also have and entertainment center.
The space supports a project of wild animals rehabilitation coming from apprehensions
or local donations. The visitor receives information and orientation about the animals and notions of environment protection.
