Caraíva Beach and Caraíva River
After boarding all of the Parque Nacional do Monte Pascoal the Caraíva River
empties its water next to the village of Caraíva. The river is calm and wide. It is an option for riding a Kayak, a boat or for fishing. Many
batters prefer the river than the sea to refreshes themselves from the heat that is always present in the littoral of Bahia.
The beach of the Village is of exuberant flora, replete with coconut trees, has
a bluff of 40 meters tall. On the other side of the river white and reddish colored, that reflect intense sparkles in reddish tones of red when
the sun rises.
The Tatuaçu stone which is really a reef barrier is frequently used for diving
and in observing the marine fauna. The best time for this is in the full moon and new noon phases and on the high tide.
Juacema Beach (Satu)
The lakes near the border are the attraction of the place. Besides, of course,
Satu, a very nice inhabitant that lives their with his family. The sea has strong waves of a greenish color, the sand is golden colored and
fine.
Espelho Beach and Curuípe
One of the most charming beaches of the region with transparent water, but one
the hardest to get to because the dirt road doesn't help very much. For this reason it is visited mostly by the local inhabitants and of the
buildings. It received this name because during the full moon, when the waters are calm, you can see the reflection of the stars, seen over
the bluff.
Jacumá Beach
Outstanding due to a great line of coconut trees spread all over the extension
of the beach. It is also known as the estuary of the Barra do Rio dos Frades where you have the mouth of this river which is the principal one
of a great number of stream that form a integrated ecosystem that during the full periods when the water goes up several meters, flooding the
valley and occupying a vast extension like in the marsh of Mato Grosso. Its name come from the drowning of a Franciscan mark in 1515.
Barra Velha
This is the beach of the Pataxós Indian Village, inside the Parque Nacional do
Monte Pascoal you can reach it in an hours walk or by boat. |
