With a crystal clear water, the ‘’Poço Encantado’’ (Enchanted Well) must take
part of any tourist’s itinerary.
Located inside of a cave, the water is so pure and transparent that it’s
possible to see even the rocks from the bottom at a depth of 60 meters.
The best time to visit it is between April and September, at morning or just
after the noon. At this period the sunshine invades the well through a crack and reflects directly in the water, what makes the blue colour
even brighter. Also, the water is so still that can be compared to a mirror, reflecting the rocks from the ceiling, and entertaining all the
tourists that tries to discover what’s really inside or outside the lake.
The Poço Encantado is 44 kilometers from Andaraí. To get there, you need to go
on BA- 142 about 20 kilometers untill the highway to Itaité, where there’s a sign indicating the entrance to the well, that stays about 17
kilometers from that point. |
