| Chapada Diamantina - Tips |
Besides some of the touristic sights are accessible by cars, the majority is
possible only by tracks that crosses the area. To get to some special places, it’s necessary days of walking, passing through forests and
rivers. So, it’s important to think twice before bringing on children and elderly people.
The tourist that doesn’t have a really good physical condition must walk slowly.
It’s not worthy to push hard the body, the best thing is to go calmly and appreciate the beauty of the landscape around. Don’t forget to ask
about the difficulty level of the walk to the guide, so neither you and the group would be damaged.
By the way, the guides are extremely important and the tourist must never walk
by himself through the tracks, because he can get lost, have a snake bite or even twist the ankle. Without the help of anyone that knows the
region and first aids, anything can be fatal.
Wear confortable sneakers and take only the essential in the backpack to avoid
carrying extra weight unnecessarily. Just don’t forget the camera, films, batteries and plastic bags to throw the trash on. Try to wear
sunblock, sun glasses and a cap to protect the face from sun burns. Take light and confortable clothes, with prefference to the ones that
dries faster.
There are not dangerous animals, except the bees. At National Park of Chapada
Diamantina, there are bees that can really cause harm and the best thing to do is to stay away from them. The statistics of snake bites in the
place is low. They only happened because they were stepped on by some tourist. With luck, it’s possible to see quatis, deers, cutias, mocós (a
very common rodent from the region). |
