Nossa Senhora da Conceição Matrix was constructed in 1749. The facade was made by
Aleijadinho and the internal panels made by great masters of the epoch, like Manoel da Costa Athaíde. The golden elements of the chapel are
works of the father of Aleijadinho, Manuel Francisco Lisboa.
The temple has a nave without sustenance column, considered as one of the great
works of the baroque architecture. The two altars of the nave have different styles and, in the sacristy, there’s a screen that represents
“Aparição de Nossa Senhora”, besides a very old confessionary and donation’s safe.
