Corumbá - Historical Building - Casario do Porto

Casario do Porto

Casario do Porto

Casario do Porto is protected by Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional since 1992 and, today, is one of the most demanded touristic spots of Corumbá, being recognized as one of the main postcards of the city. The buildings that formed the complex had bank agencies, tannery, and the first ice fabric of Brazil. Today it houses the Secretaria Municipal do Meio Ambiente e Turismo (Municipal Secretary of Environment and Tourism) and the Fundação de Cultura do Pantanal (Pantanal’s Culture Foundation).

Most of the place was finished by the end of the 19th century and has rooms considered the most elegant of the epoch.
