Prédio Wanderley & Baís

    Museu da História do Homem do Pantanal tells the history of the men of Pantanal in the last 5 million years. The patrimony is formed with objects related with archeology, anthropology e ethnology of the region.

    The building is a historic construction dated from 1876, considered one of the greatest examples of the architecture of Corumbá from the end of 19th century. Part of the used material was imported from England and the building is protected by Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Cultural since 1992.

    Besides Museu da História do Homem do Pantanal, the place houses the Secretaria Municipal do Meio Ambiente e Turismo (Municipal Secretary of Environment and Tourism), Fundação de Cultura do Pantanal (Pantanal’s Culture Foundation) and the famous bar&restaurant "Baís do Chopp".
