| Corumbá - Museum - Memorial do Homem Pantaneiro |
Casa Vasques & Filhos |
Memorial do Homem Pantaneiro retrieves the last 200 years of history
lived by residents of the region, especially the city residents. It tells how the occupation and settlement of Corumbá occurred from
the crisis of the gold exploration, in the beginning of the 18th century.
The daily routine of the residents – from their first daily meal, the
work in the agriculture fields and even the tereré circle – is also displayed at the memorial. Narrations of men and women who lived
the constant transformations of Pantanal compose the patrimony, which also has informations about beliefs and other peculiar aspects
of the local culture.
Memorial do Homem Pantaneiro works at Casa Vasques & Filhos and
integrates the archeologic-environmental complex of the city’s historic area, which also counts with Museu da História do Homem do
Pantanal. |
