 Cuiabá - Museum - Indian's Museum

Created in 1972, the Museum of Popular Art and Culture is also known as Museu do Índio. It has more than 2000 pieces among feather objects, adornments, utensils for hunting and fishing, beside ceramics, musical instruments and a great amount of photos showing the life in the villages.

It’s a center that preserves the indians memory and culture and also presents this culture to the visitors. An interesting point of this museum’s history is that the indians participate in the organization of the exhibits, giving to the environment an atmosphere closer to the reality that it shows, making the visitors absorbed in the Indians culture.
