| Cuiabá - Park - Horto Florestal |
The space, once known as “Parque Florestal Municipal e Parque Zoobotânico”, today
is named as Horto Florestal “Toti Garcia”. It was created in 1953, at the south of Cuiabá.
By means of a convention between the Agriculture Ministry and Cuiabá´s Municipal
Government, Horto Florestal in kept open, offering entertainment and tranquility to the visitors. It has many species of plants only found at the
native woods and protects several animals like quatis, monkkeys, preás, antas and various birds.
The space is considered as an area of preservation andd instrument to the promotion
of environmental education. The park offers periodic courses of recycling, green houses construction courses, gardening and botanic notions.
