Praça Alencastro was constructed in the honor of Presidente José Maria Alencastro,
in 1882. It is known for housing Cuiabá´s City Hall. In 1910, it earned a garden, seats, bandstand and a fountain.
Recently it went under reforms, with the fountain illumination completely recovered.
The restauration made possible the movement of the waters through a system of sounds and lights. It’s frequently used as stage for events of
regional music and popular festivities. |
