Curitiba - Park - João Paulo II Wood

Memorial to the polish immigration, the park was inaugurated in 1980, months after the visit of the Pope to the city. Its area of 46.337m² is part of the old Estearina Candle factory and belongs to the Grandmother family. There you can find a set of seven houses made of wooden trunks, typical of the Polish architecture that form a memorial to the memory of the faith and struggle of the immigrants. The same as the old cabbages and the statue of our Lady of Czestochowa, patroness of Poland. In Curitiba, the polish immigration began in 1871.
