The first public park of the city, it was inaugurated in 1886 by the President of
the Province of Paraná, Alfredo d'Escragnoble Taumay with the name of Botanic Garden. Its principal gates are a faithful copy the Portão do
Cemitério de Cães (The Gate of the Dog Cimitery) of Paris. The was the first big project of drainage of the city, transforming a bog into a
place of leisure with lakes, bridges and islands in the meddle of the green area. Very few animals still remain at the zoo that once existed
there. The park still has 35 attractions that go from the Island of Love and Illusion to the Aquarium, the Waterfall nursery, Lovers Cave, the
suspended Bridge and the cages with birds of the largest variety of species.

Open: The Park: Tuesdays to Sundays from 6am to 7pm.
The Aquarium: Tuesdays to Sundays from 8am to 5pm. |
