Jockey Club do Paraná
The Jockey Club of Paraná was inaugurated on January 29, 1874. Its track was 1.700 meters, a little more than an English mile
or twelve and a half blocks. Soon after its inauguration it started to attract crowsa to its installations being one of the
principal options of leisure for the people of the city.
Twice it had to be moved until it reached its present location. In 1889 it was moved in order to improve the infra-structure
for the public. In 1955, due to the necessity to expand the city, the club was taken to the Tarumã district where it remain to
today. The modern installations of the Jockey Club have two san tracks, one for training and the other for the races. It also
has an efficient system of illumination which permits the holding of events during the day as well as at night at any distance.
