Diamantina - Museum - Diamond Museum

Museu do Diamante works where formerly priest José de Oliveira e Silva Rolim lived, one of the most beautiful constructions of Diamantina, erected in the 19th century. It served as residence until the middle of 1945, when it was expropriated and registered as historic patrimony, then housing the memorial.

The house has, at the public disposition, a permanent exhibit of valuable items gathered in the region, preserving and making visitors know many kinds of diamonds and typical goods from the deposits. It also counts with a patrimony of furniture, items of sacred arts, mining instruments, ceramics, paintings and sculptures.
