“Mercado Público Municipal de Florianópolis” was constructed in 1896. Located in
the heart of the city, the place is a traditional point in the city’s downtown and was registered as historic patrimony.
Besides stalls that sell products like fishes, shrimps, oysters and other fresh
sea food, there are several bars prepared to serve from drinks to typical dishes of the region. Periodically there are shows, artists and
intellectual’s presentations and other events linked to several art manifestations.
