Nossa Senhora do Rosário and São Benedito Church |
Nossa Senhora do Rosário and São Benedito Church was built by slaves and
former-slaves. It started to be erected in 1787 and was concluded in 1830. In the top of the stairway, there’s the painting from the 19th
century that pictures the panorama of the city, in the vision of artist Victor Meirelles. The stairway of the main entrance of the church is
frequently stage for street shows.
