Joaquina Beach became famous during the 70’s, when surfers from all over the world
discovered the place. For this reason, it is a beach with excellent entertainment infrastructure for residents and visitors from the entire country.
The support structure of Joaquina Beach counts with restrooms, parking lot, life guards, police station, bars, craftsmanship stores and hotels.
It’s possible to rent boards for the practice of sand board in the dunes.
There’s a legend that says that Joaquina was a lace maker of the 18th century who
lived on one of the beaches of Santa Catarina. She taught women of the community to make laces, as well as cooked for the local fishermen in her
ranch, located by the sea. Someday, the waves were so strong that they ended up taking Joaquina to the depths of the ocean. |
