Naufragados Beach |
The access to the beach is a little bit complicated, but it’s rewarded by the
natural beauties found in the way, done through Caieira da Barra do Sul Beach. With thick sand, it’s proper for the practice of trekking, fishing
and aquatic sports, since it has few infrastructures, what uses to attract few tourists, making the beach more isolated and calm. It’s 43km away
from Florianópolis’ downtown.
It received the name because, in 1753, there was a shipwreck where a group of
Azorean immigrants were the victims. By order of the Portuguese colony, two ships went to Rio Grande do Sul, when a strong storm hit the
embarkations by surprise. Only 77 members of the crew survived and among them, some stayed in the island and others followed to Rio Grande do
Sul. |
