Sambaqui Beach |
Sambaqui Beach is 17km away from Florianópolis’ downtown and received this name
due to the accumulation of shells and in the sand. The origin of the name is indian and means cemetery by the union of the words "sambá",
shell, and "qui", sleep. It’s a little bit longer than 1km and has few waves.
In “Sambaqui”, there’s a fishermen village, besides inns for tourists who look for
far and calm places. Folk dances like “Boi-de-Mamão”, “Ratoeira” and “Pau de Fita” are executed sporadically in Sambaqui, where religious events
are also realized. |
