Inaugurated in 1891, “Antiga Alfândega” is one of the points of great distinction
of the history of the immigration of the city of Fortaleza. Many foreigners and even people fleeing from the dryness passed there, starting a
life of new opportunities.
The building passed through several reforms between 1941 and 1945 and actually
hosts a bank agency of “Caixa Econômica Federal”, one of the oldest banks of Brazil’s history.
