"Palácio da Luz" |
Formerly, "Palácio da Luz" served as seat of the Ceará State Government. The
building was constructed in the end of the 18th century to be the residence of Antônio de Castro Viana, major captain at that time.
Many years later, the construction, made by workers and indians, was sold to the Imperial Government in the middle of 1814. Actually, the
beautiful construction is the seat of Academia Cearense de Letras, entity that care for the authors of Ceará who contributed the most for the
history of literature.
