Cauda Fountain |
Built in 1778, Cauda Fountain, or Boa Morte Fountain as it’s also known, it had the
objective of divide the task of supplying the city altogether with Carioca Fountain. The fountain earned these names due to the resemblance of
the aqueduct with a tail and in reference to Boa Morte Church, which was situated in the land behind the fountain.
Made in stone, the construction has details in soapstone and fountains so the
population can serve themselves. There are still two tanks destined to the animals of the region.
