At “Praça do Trabalhador”, visitors can find a fair with more than 6 thousand
expositors responsible for commercialize every kind of product. Residents of the city say that the fair exists for 40 years, beginning in the
decade of 1960, with hippies that exposed their products in several squares, until reaching its actual shape.
The stalls of major notoriety are located in front of the old building of Train
Station, where ceramics, crochet, hand painted porcelains, cooper bowls and local fruits liqueurs are commercialized. During the exposition
there are several artists, some of them known internationally, selling wonderful paintings.
The food stalls serve several dishes of Goiás cuisine and take a good part of the
fair, which also presents personal use goods and varied clothes. Frequently, tourists of several parts of Brazil go to the city to buy in
quantity.
There’s also a kind of communitarian radio called “Rádio Hippie”, which offers
public utility services among bargain announces and raffles.
