Botafogo Park |
Constructed in 1938 by town planner Atílio Corrêa Lima, Botafogo Park shelters
plants and animals, like “corujas brancas” (white owls), “beija-flores” (humming birds) and “cigarras” (cicadas), spread all over the 172000m²
of the park. The space suffered reforms in 1993, what occasioned the division in two parts, one turned to “Avenida Araguaia” and the other to
“Vila Nova”. The areas have seats and lakes, cycle ways and track fields, sport courts and support infrastructure with snack bar and
restrooms.
The whole park passed through a reforestation process, what helped in the recovery
of some species of the place. The two parts of the park are united by a bridge, which is part of the landscaping set. |
