Turned to researches, Cobra Veiga Park makes projects in the education and
culture areas, promoting the environmental preservation raising serpents. On an area 44000m2 wide, 750 serpents of the most varied
species are the source of research for a center of snake studies.
Founded in 1993, January, the center was authorized by “Instituto Brasileiro do
Meio Ambiente” to raise serpents for skin, poison and meat commerce. The animals remain stored in bays and are used to make demonstrations in
lectures administered by professionals of the area. The snakes’ poison is used in researches and in the composition of medicines, including the
antidote for the bites of these animals.
