“Parque Ecológico de Preservação Ambiental e Florestal”, founded in 1992, December,
is between the cities of Goiânia and Anápolis, 18km away from the capital. There’s an archeological site approximately 1500 years old, with
vestiges of ancient indian settlements. Occupying the area of former “Fazenda Dois Irmãos” (Dois Irmãos Farm), it also houses an artificial lake
formed by the dam that accumulate water to supply Goiânia.
There it’s possible to find fruit tree species at “Batalhão Florestal”, responsible
for the park’s security. There’s also an entertainment area where visitors can camp, play football, make picnics, barbecues and swim in the
river. An area is destined to the plantation of native species, helping in the reforestation and in the preservation of the fauna, under
coordination of “Estação Ciência Binômio da Costa Lima”.
