Goiânia - Monuments - Monument to Peace

Monument to Peace

Monument to Peace

With the objective of showing that peace and the unification of people is possible, it was created by artist Siron Franco, Monument to World Peace. Constructed in an hourglass shape, the sculpture is located at “Bosque dos Buritis” and shelters some of the soil of various countries, symbolizing the union and the tolerance between the people as a way to obtain peace.

Weighting around 50 tons and standing 5 meters tall, the first bunches of soil were deposited in the hourglass, which has the saying: "A Terra é um só país e os seres humanos seus cidadãos", coming from Australia, Israel, Holland, Ghana, Portugal, Sweden and Uruguay.
