Iguassu Falls - Churches - Arabian Mosque

Mesquita Árabe     Faith aside, there isn’t how to be indifferent to the Islamic Mosque, located in Foz do Iguaçu. The temple is simply fascinating, decorated with abstract art of religious inspiration in most of it. The interior has drawings of arabian origin, where geometrical figures are interlaced in perfect and unified drawings.

The minarets, mosque’s towers, emit luminous signals at 15 meters high, beside of a sound that calls the faithful to oration five times a day. A gap located on the back wall of the mosque calls attention for always being richly adorned. Actually, the gap is the Mihrad, which points to the Sacred City of Mecca to where the muslins shall look while praying. Beside the Mihrad, there’s a small pulpit and innumerous carpets all over.

The Islamic mosque was inaugurated in 1983. Since 1998 it receive tourists of all religions to divulge the Islam and stop the prejudice against the Arab people. To visit the temple it’s necessary to schedule a visit. A guide accompaniment is advisable, since visitors may acquire more knowledge about Arab culture.
