"Espaço das Américas" was built to promote the cultural exchange among the South
America countries. It’s largely used for events and also as environmental education center. Next to “Espaço das Américas” is the Mark of the
Three Frontiers, an obelisk in triangle shape, painted with the colors of Brazil’s flag.
Mark of the Three Frontiers was inaugurated in 1903 in the exact same time as
Argentina and Paraguay did the same in their side of the frontier. The three sides of the obelisk symbolize the equality, complement ship and
respect among the three nations.
From there, it’s possible to observe the triple frontier: to the south, there’s
Iguaçu River and Argentina and, at the east portion, there’s Paraná River and Paraguay. The belvedere’s sight includes hundreds of pines and
guava fruit trees, typical of the region. It counts with complete infrastructure to receive tourists, with parking lots, snack bars and
craftsmanship store.
