 Ilhabela - Parks - State Park of Ilhabela

    The State Park of Ilhabela which preserves one of the largest forest area existing of the Atlantic Forest of the São Paulo State, covering the whole Ilhabela Archipelago. It is considered to be one of the principal tourist points of Ilhabela and has a large number of waterfalls and trails that are used by those who like ecotourism.

    Animals of all types, many birds, gigantic trees and various plants can be found in the park. The waterfalls form beautiful natural pools with clear transparent water coming from the mountains. The natural beauty of Ilhabela is so explicit that everybody who visits the city starts to see that the preservation of the natural resources and of the ecosystem is a point primary importance.

    Today, the protected area of the park measures a little more than 27 thousand hectares that covers 85% of the municipal of Ilhabela, besides the islands of São Sebastião, Búzios, Vitória and other small islands that form the archipelago.
