 Ilhabela - Presentation

    Ilhabela is a place full of stores and legends which makes it charming and mysterious. Indians, run away slaves and pirates are part of its origin.

    The famous "Capital da Vela", as it is known all over Brazil, is located on the North coast of São Paulo State. It is considered to be one of the principal tourist points and water sports centers.

    In the territory of the island, almost 80% of its area is covered by the Atlantic Forest, taht is why the State Park of the Serra do Mar was created in this place. The islands of São Sebastião, Búzios, Vitória and the small islands of the Cabras, Serraria, Castelhanos, Lagoa, Figueira, Enchovas, Sumitica, Galhetas and Codó are part of the city of Ilhabela.

    There are various hotels, chalets, inns and various types of restaurants in Ilhabela. With the growth of the tourism in mind, the island was structured to orient its visitors. In each part of the city there are signs that indicate the location of the tourists points like the beaches, bars, stores, etc. The evolution of the tourism modified the structure of the city but it maintained and preserved the principal characteristic of Ilhabela, which is the nature. It only incremented and enriched the place with establishments of quality, comfort and safety to offer more commodity to the tourists without damaging the ambiental environment.

    Waterfalls, all types of beaches, ecological trails are some of the wonders found in Ilhabela. Rich in tourist attractions, the city is a place full of charm and peace. There is no other place like Ilhabela where the people can do everything at the same time. The place is ideal for resting. The ample area that exists in the island is made up by mountains, coconut trees, forests and waterfalls gives it a tranquil and energetic atmosphere, however, the tourists and visitors can find the solution to problems created by the rush of the big cities like stress.

    Besides the tranquility, the tourists can find agitation and diversion with radical sports and the nightlife  in the night clubs. There are various options of leisure in Ilhabela for all the tastes like ecotourism, surf, motocross, rapel, sailing, wind surfing, biking, fishing, etc, satisfying from the tourists who like to dive up to those who prefer walking through the Atlantic Forest to get to known animals of various species.

    When the tourist imagines a beach, he imagines first a normal beach, a common one like those that exist, however, this is the difference of the beaches of Ilhabela, each beach has its own characteristics and history, making the tourists curious to learn about it. The tourists can visit all of the beaches by schooner, boat and kayak.

    Ilhabela made its part into a beautiful present, because its riches were preserved and taken care of. That is why the place is one of the principal tourist points of the Paulista coast.
