The statue of Sapho is located in the J.J. Seabra Square, in front of the Paranaguá Palace. It is the only one that honors the Greek poetess in South America. It was bought by the wife of a great Colonel of the cacao who ordered it to be placed in a public place. Sculptured in Carrara marble in the leg inning of the Century the statue of Sapho has a neoclassic style.

The sculpture is in honors of the Greek poetess Sapho, the just woman to flight for equal rights between men and women. She lived between the VII and VI centuries A.C.
