If João Pessoa is considered as one of the woodiest cities of Brazil, it is also
due to Jardim Botânico, also known as “Mata do Buraquinho”, a 471 hectares area containing dense vegetation of the Mata Atlântica (Tropical
Forest). The shape of this area looks resembles a heart and is located in the exact geographic center of the capital of the State of
Paraíba.
There can be found several species of wild animals, like macaco sagüi, tejuaçu,
tamanduá mirim and even chameleons, besides sloths, cotias and armadillos. |
