Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres Cathedral was founded in 1922 and is considered one of
the main buildings of religious characteristic of the city, due to its historic importance. It was constructed in gothic style with blocks of
“pedra laje” by the franciscans. The abundance of this kind of stone is what inspired the name of the city.
In the underground floor the mortal remains of bishops who passed by the church,
like Don Daniel Hostin and Don Honorato Piazzera, are stored. Besides that, it has two bells named "Cristo Salvador" and "Santa
Maria", weighting 1520kg and 920kg respectively, which were donated by devotees of the church. Other attraction is the organ.
