Jonas Ramos Park

Popularly known as “Tanque”, Jonas Ramos Park was constructed in 1771 as a space for women to wash clothes on an atmosphere protected from the attack of animals and indians. Today, “Biblioteca Pública Municipal” (Public City Library) is installed there, with a collection of 26500 titles.

There also works “Centro de Educação Ambiental”, which counts with several rooms and an auditorium much used for lectures and events about botanic, zoology and geology.
