Juma Lodge offers an unique experience in the exploration and knowledge of the
Amazon Rain Forest. The hotel is totally integrated with the jungle, located 100km south of Manaus and built in the ground on stilts – a
typical building, to protect the houses when the river reaches its highest level, up to 20 meters. The inhabitants of Manaus are likeable and
warm people and the city has a good infrastructure, among them a modern airport.
The row materials used in its construction, abundant in the region, had been
carefully extracted of the proper forest. Wood such as Angelim, Itaúba, Acariquara, Tintarana and Jacareúba were used in the walls, walkways
and stilts. The leaves of Babaçu covered the lodge in the same process used in the houses of the riverines. Beyond the environment concerns,
the Juma offers excellent infra structure for a jungle lodge.
Using personalized tours, juma Lodge offers several activities and tours in
which the tourist gets familiar with the region like the “iguapós” at flood time. All tours are led by a lodge guide with great knowledge of
the area, in Portuguese, English and Spanish speaking.
The hotel also offers transfer from the city of Manaus till the hotel. Children
under five years of age are free. It has normal phone lines and by satellite.
Considering the Juma Lodge is located in the jungle, is highly recommended to
visitors to be vaccinated against yellow fever. And for tourists relief, the surrounding of the hotel is mosquito’s free, due to the acidity
of the waters of the Juma River. |
