 Manaus - Museums - The Museum of Natural Sciences

    The Naturalist Association of Amazonas administrates the Amazon Natural Sciences Museum. On the museums patrimony, there are lots of stuffed and mounted animals from the Amazon jungle and several and fish species. Among them, the piraíbas, tucunarés e tambaquis stands out. One thing that also calls the attention of the visitors are the pirarucus, a two meter long and 150 kg fish.

    Besides fishs, in the museum’s patrimony there’s various kinds of insects, even rare butterflies and big spiders. The biggest of them is the Hercules beetle, 16 cm long.
