More than 4 thousand pieces integrates the patrimony of the Northern’s Man Museum.
In the permanent exhibit it’s showed details of the region’s history and the traditional habits of the population who lives in the Amazon. The
museum puts at the visitor disposal sounded routes in foreign languages.
Frequently, the Northern’s Man Museum realizes temporary and itinerant exhibits to
support cultural manifestations and promote the knowledge. At the museum, there’s a reading room and a library specialized in Brazil’s folklore,
where also it’s promoted debate sessions.
Sociologist Gilberto Freyre idealized the Northern’s Man Museum in the beginning
of the 80’s. It runs, since 1985, in a building conveyed by Manaus City Hall. Nowadays, the building is completely restored.
